Coffs Harbour : the fishing fleet
February 2nd, 2005Part of the fishing fleet at Coffs Harbour

The last of the rose
February 2nd, 2005Two bees collecting - the regular bee and the tiny native stingless bee - if you can see it.

Weather
February 2nd, 2005Windy this afternoon - off the north east which is more usually balmy breezes. Out of the wind it is still quite warm. Humidity is up to 72% and it is 29C at 8:00pm (dst). It is cooler downstairs.
Big Seas
February 1st, 2005There wasn't even a storm just a bit of a depression out there but the seas were a bit wild. There are some foolhardy teenagers and young adults inside that wave "having fun" by letting them break over them. If one was washed off then they would surely be suing the council for not forcing them off the breakwater (there were signs).

I know where it is
February 1st, 2005This is a Laverda Ghost 650. It has been in a dealer's showroom for two years now. He is hoping that an enthusiast will come along and pay his asking price ... ? These are kilometres not miles.

Father's advice to his children
February 1st, 2005"You can stay up as late as you like as long as you can get up before me in the morning"
Promised Land
February 1st, 2005This is an area called "The Promised Land" near Coffs Harbour (and Bellingen)

Appropriately enough the river that runs through "The Promised Land" is called the "Never Never" this is at a place called "Gleniffer"

"Duyfken" entering Batavia Harbour
February 1st, 2005Tis is the replica of the original "Little Dove" that surveyed the Gulf of Carpentaria. I was lucky enough to be able to catch it entering Batavia Harbour in Java. Unfortunately it was hazy and backlit but this must be one of the very few pictures in existence of this historic moment.

At the markets
February 1st, 2005Just sitting in a patch of sun with the new treasures purchased at the Bellingen Markets.
